What is ALTSeek Search?

Buttonwood's ALTSeek Search is one of the 5 elements of ALTSeek. ALTSeek Search is a robust and agnostic search platform designed to help RIAs, BDs, Reps/Advisors, and Family Offices easily search for investment offerings that fit the criteria they need for their clients. 

It provides:

  • 175 Unique Search Parameters
  • Easily Identify Reasonably Available Alternatives
  • Summary Overviews on Offerings Listed
  • Quick Links to the Sponsor, Fund Admins & BW
  • Fully Agnostic List of Offerings
    • If it's raising capital in the retail channel, it can be listed. No 3rd party DD reporting required.

FAQ

What are we doing with the PPM?  

We'll use the PPM to create a short summary of the offering. Your offering will be searchable using 175+ search parameters and will direct users to a dedicated offering dashboard containing the Summary Overview, Rep/Advisor Test, and Contact Links to the Sponsor & Buttonwood.

This will assist our users in finding specific investment opportunities for their clients, as well as finding reasonably available alternatives for Reg BI and Fiduciary Standards. 

How much does it cost?  

Absolutely nothing! Inclusion in the platform is free.

*All offerings uploaded during our initial launch phase will be free in perpetuity. Beginning 2026, new offerings will have a small annual fee to be listed.

Does it have to be 506(c) or can I upload 506(b) offerings? What Asset Classes are you able to accept?

We can do 506(b), 506(c), Reg A, public and private offerings. The BW ALTSeek platform is accessible only to broker dealers, registered investment advisors, registered representatives, financial advisors, and other approved users. It is not available to the public, nor to other issuers/sponsors.

We accept any and all asset types and structures - real estate, oil and gas, energy, etc; DST/TIC, REIT, LLC, LP, etc. If you are targeting RIAs and/or Broker Dealers with your offering, we'll get it on the site!

Will you share the PPM with the users?

No! Your PPM will be used exclusively by the BW analysts creating the summary and search parameters. It will not be shared, distributed, or made available to anyone outside of BW, without the express permission of the sponsor.

Would Buttonwood sign an NDA prior to us sharing our PPM?

Of course! Please reach out to Alyna at Alyna@ButtonwoodLLC.net with your NDA and we'll gladly get that signed and sent back. We value the intellectual property of our sponsors and are happy to ensure your comfort with our process.

Can I see the summary review once it's complete?

We're happy to share the summary review with the sponsor. Please note, this is not for approval purposes. We will, however, correct any information if for some reason we get something incorrect. We are very collaborative with our sponsors, so will make every effort to ensure we're providing fair and accurate information to our BD/RIA users. Buttonwood Due Diligence is a third-party due diligence firm that was founded in 2004. We have been providing high quality, in-depth due diligence services on alternative investments for the last 21 years. When Buttonwood was purchased in 2020 by two of it's long-standing employees, we began a steady push towards innovation, improvement, and expansion of our core products and services. Mainly: to provide due diligence and educational support far beyond a simple report.
